Not offensive, just inaccurate. I prefer black, but I understand you're just trying to be polite by calling me African American.

I wish I could see the results /: as a white woman I would like to know which word(s) to use in which times, and which ones are more acceptable or respectful.

I've got a friend with African descent but he's Australian so he hates it when people call him "African American". No problem with America, just the fact that people think that's the only way you can have that skin colour.

I prefer POC, African Descent, or Black. But its not offensive just not an accurate description in my opinion.

I do bc i dont know where i came from. I just call myself  half black.

You shouldn't call all black women african american though. Not every one of us are from America. I usually just call people black.
