D&C or pill ?

So I have appointment Friday to find out what I wanna do D&C or Pill I still having mix feeling for both of them this is not my first miscarriage but never had to choose which one to do I really don't wanna be put to sleep so I'm kind of going for pill but I'm so scared that everything won't come out and I end up having to do the d&c any ways any can anyone help me out on my decision?

The pill almost killed me hemeraged 2 times and had huge clots come out of me that were the size of a grapefruit and bigger!  And in the end had to have an emergence you D&C because I had lost so much blood I became anemic and if I decided not to do it would b kept in the e r and given blood!! What a mess!! Took me 3 years to get pregnant again after all the shock my body went through!! If I would have know I would have done the D&C from the start and not put myself through that!! I went through the pill route about a month ago now. I was supposed to be 8 weeks but the doc said baby stopped growing at 6. While I'm glad my husband was able to be totally present with me and I was able to fully feel what was happening so I could have real closure, the thought of having to take that pill again terrifies me. Everyone has a different experience, but mine was honestly hell. I was on strong anti-nausea, painkillers, and still (TMI ahead) couldn't eat, move, sit up, had labor-like pains for almost 12 hours, and ended up laying on the bathroom floor with what should have been in the toilet in my underwear (which my husband had to help clean up). If, God forbid, I had to do it again, I really think I would choose a D&C.

I felt the same way about being put under but I went with the D&C and I'm glad i did.  The day before my D&C I started miscarrying naturally and the pain was so intense I could barely walk.  I went to my D&C and couldnt wait to be put under.  The cramping came in waves of pain that I couldn't handle. I woke up from the procedure feeling like a million bucks because the pain was now gone.  But give yourself at least three days of rest.  They said I could go back to my normal everyday stuff the very next day but that was not the case.  The cramping came back but it was like period cramps which I was able to handle and then I bled which are both normal but I needed three days to fully recover.  Good luck sweetie.

Sorry you're going through this 😞 I went with the pill in February and would definitely do it again if I had to. I knew I needed to be "present" to have closure and it really wasn't as painful or as scary as I had thought it would be after reading about it. I was not traumatized whatsoever, actually really happy with my decision. My dr gave me pain meds to handle it which helped. One thing, my dr wouldn't give me the pill until I actually started to bleed on my own. He said he didn't have great success of the miscarriage wasn't already pending. 24 hrs after I took my first dose of the pills I was in full miscarriage and it was all over and done with in less than 4 hours. I chose pill for my mc in March. It was no big deal. I cleaned out completely. But I was only 7 weeks at the time.

For the D&C , You have two options. The first method involves  a Xanax which is calming and will probably make you just a tiny bit drowsy. The other option is the twilight sedation. For this they give you the Xanax as well and a medication thats given in a small amount of via an IV. This makes you really foggy. It's like a more severe version of laughing gas at the dentist, so you aren't really put out.

I had a D&C following a miscarriage last year around 8 weeks. The procedure itself was uncomfortable , but not painful. I opted for the twilight sedation because I was pretty upset and I was concerned the Xanax wouldn't help. Personally for me, I picked the right option. I was very foggy during the procedure which lasted less than 5 min. Then for about 15-20 minutes after I sat in a recliner with a heating pad. After those 15-20 the medication wore off( according to the nurses I spent those 15-20 minutes asking them for a cheeseburger over and over. I only remember this slightly, I must have been hungry! But I assume I'm glad I lightened the mood in the room). I had my sister drive me home after the procedure and she also picked up the RX for pain medication.  The week following I was fairly uncomforatable. A good bit of cramping. But it was manageable.

Make the choice that's right for you. I'm sure neither will be particularly enjoyable but try to think about what you will be most comfortable with in the long run. Best of luck my dear! Please feel free to message me if you need any tips on getting through the recovery❤️

Both procedures have their benefits and both have their downsides. First I would take into account how far along you are. I'm pretty sure the pill isn't recommended past 9 weeks.

Something else to consider is that the pill is easier while you are in the Drs office, but you do have to go through your body expelling anything from your uterus during the following few days. Yes, the D & C is a bit more invasive and uncomfortable . But the recovery doesn't involve the same bleeding process. However is does involve some bleeding / soreness.

I did the pill and regret it. It was sooooo painful (labor like) and traumatic; I wish I had done the dc so it would have just been done and over with. Sorry for your loss and prayers of strength your way xox

Im so sorry for your loss. Its A hard thing to go through. I just had a miscarriage in April. I chose the d&c. I didn't want to feel the pain and I didn't want to flush the baby and didn't know what I would do with it so I just felt better doing the d&c. Whatever you're most comfortable with. I'm so sorry again. Prayers❤

I chose D & C when I had my miscarriage. I wanted it done. I didn't want to wait around for it to happen.
