Flying with a 3 month old?

I'm planning a trip with my baby to visit a sister of mine. The flight is 3 hours with a layover and another hour flight. Any advice or tips?? My car seat turns into a stroller and fits into the overhead. So I've got a good start

I second the baby wrap or carrier! I brought ready made formula when we flew at 7 weeks,  he d didn't take to it too well,  so we switched to powder on the trip back.

He cried on take off so I fed him to pop his ears. Our flight was app. 2 hours.  He slept most of it because he loves to sleep on me.

Just flew with my 9 wk old. :) I used my wrap carrier to wear her through security and in the airport. (You don't go through the body scanner with a baby, just the metal detector and then they swab your hands. Easy peasy.)

I think you can get through security fine with liquid formula or breastmilk. I measured out powdered formula into about 4 bottles and then bought a bottle of water once we were through. I'm lucky she'll drink bottles at any temp, though. Not sure what you do if your LO needs them warmed up.

We checked our car seat since it definitely would not fit on the plane without buying another seat. You can carry it to the gate and check it there if you want, but we just checked ours at the ticket counter so we wouldn't have to lug it around. We have a pretty sturdy padded bag for it and there was no damage. By the way, for at least the 2 airlines we flew with (Delta and Spirit), car seats & strollers check for free and diaper bags don't count against your carryon allowance. That may be universal, I haven't checked. Score!

LO sat on our laps during the flight. She didn't sleep much, but seemed to enjoy looking around. I recommend having a bottle/pacifier handy or nursing through takeoff and landing just in case they have ear trouble. My LO didn't seem to be bothered this time, but I was ready. :)
