First Lupron tonight.
Hello.
Can somebody look at the protocol below and tell me it makes sense? I think it does, but I'd love to hear from someone who has been there.
After 6 failed iuis, our insurance covers IVF. I've been on birth control for about 2 weeks. and start Lupron tonight. We overlap the birth control and Lupron for 4 days, then stop the birth control. Sometime next week I should get a "period" and then we schedule a baseline ultrasound and bloodwork. Assuming everything looks good I'll start the stimulating injections. It's a combination of Lupron, menopur, and gonal -f. We'll check again in a few days and see how the follicles are doing. Eventually we trigger with ovidrel and retrieve. Post retrieval I'm doing progesterone suppositories 3x/day and estrogen patches changed every other day.
So, here we go. It's a lot. It's very overwhelming. We were so lucky and conceived our son, who is now 4, on our first try. We always said IVF wasn't an option. But then it became the only option. I'm scared and excited.
