Ear Piercing?

Just got done watching alil baby girl on fb get her ears pierced and it broke my heart how sad she was lol Since I've found out that I am having a baby girl I've been contemplating on what is an appropriate age to get her ears pierced. What age are you ladies deciding on to pierce the ears?

We are going to wait until she asks for them to be done when she's older. I think it's unnecessary to accessorize your baby like that, and it's more fun when you make a date out of it when they are old enough to get excited.

I'm not gonna pierce my girl's ears until she can tell me she wants them. I got my ears pierced when I was 12, and it was such a special experience for me that I was really excited about. Then I never wore earrings, lol.

I'm pregnant with a little girl and also have a 10 year old little girl. We decided with her to wait until she wanted her ears pierced and asked for it which ended up being when she was 5 yo. Beforehand we talked a lot about it, watched procedure videos and discussed the importance of keeping her ears clean. She's done great the last 5 years and has been very responsible.

My daughter's getting them next week at her 4 month appointment. I got them done as a baby and so will my daughter. If you think by doing this I am harming my child you need to reevaluate your life. 😘

I figure it isn't necessarily to pierce my daughters ears, that is a choice she can make with her own body when she is old enough. I'm not going to make such semi-permanent (as scarring will be there forever) decisions of her identity and self expression for her.

My SIL pierced her daughter's ears at 5 months! There was minimal crying and they do look cute. I'm going to wait until my daughter gets older though simply because I don't want to deal with them on a child if they get infected /:
I have quite a few piercings and my body rejected some of them for awhile and it was a pain to deal with. I also babysat a toddler who would scream and cry if her shirt or hair snagged on her earrings because they were sensitive and always red/crusty until her mom finally gave up and took them out. Just not something I wanna go through lol

Most of my family members got there's pierced when babies. My mom didn't with me because she didn't want to hear the crying it made her sad lol. I started asking for ear piercings at 2 years old and some odd months 😂 she made me wait and finally at 3 I begged her enough and she brought me to go do it. I guess it just depends on your preference. If I was having a girl I would get her ears pierced as a baby but I'm having a boy so I don't have to worry about that! Lol

I pierced my daughters at 4m. She whimpered for a second and was fine. She ended up taking them out when she was 4 and refuses to keep them in so this time around I'm not piercing her ears.
