Just For Fun.

So my wife and I are ttc using a known donor, at home insemination with Preseed and Instead Cups. I'm 14dpo, lots of symptoms, negative hpts. Just for fun yesterday, we decided to try blood on an internet cheapie. I pricked my finger, got about 2 drops of blood, mixed with about 1 to 2 drops of water, and dipped. A dark positive showed within 2 minutes. To test the theory, my wife did the same. She got a clear bfn. I've heard that in theory, this can work, because hcg shows in blood first. Again, we did this for fun, and I'm not putting too much stock in it. Anyone ever tried this before?
