IUI at home

So my wife and I have been trying to conceive for a while now. We had been getting IUI treatments at a fertility clinic and I was taking letrozole and trigger shot. I recently got laid off from work and we don't have the money to continue the treatments with the clinic. Fortunately I'm married to a nurse so we feel confident in doing IUI at home but we won't have access to the fertility meds. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether food and herbal supplements can be equally effective or whether it's a waste of money to try to conceive without the meds. We have heard a lot of good things about vitex. I don't know. Thoughts?
