Ovulation

Hey guys I got a quick question about ovulation. If you only ovulate once during a cycle. How is it still possible to get pregnant when your not ovulating? Can you still release eggs ? My boyfriend and I are trying for a baby and we kind of what it to happen 'unexpectedly' I guess you can say. I find it a lot more exciting that way. Idk why. But we have had intercourse 5 times this past week and each time he finished inside.  Could I still get pregnant with out having sex during the ovulation time period? I hope this isn't a dumb question I'm just really curious. Thank you!
