Hi! I'm 17 years old, and I have always been sensitive to loud noises. I'm usually fine in every day situations, but sometimes it is all too loud for me to handle. High screechy noises like silverware on plates hurt my ears, as does going to adult movies (kids movies are usually fine) and gunshots. I play trumpet in my high school band, and that has never bothered me. Again, my ears don't always bother me, so I'm curious as to what this could be. I'm fairly certain that it's not hyperacusis, but could this be the start of tinnitus or something else, or are my ears just unusually sensitive? If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, they would be appreciated. Thanks!
