When to pump

Question

Hello due 11/9. Planning on breastfeeding/pumping this little one. Only going to have about 4 weeks off of work before I go back part time. Wondering when I should start pumping after birth and how long before or after breastfeeding? Thank you in advance!!

I honestly started pumping immediately after my milk came in.  I would nurse my son then pump till milk stopped flowing then pump for 10 min after it stopped. Once I got to a point where he was eating every 4-6 hours I would pump between feelings. Never allowing myself to go over 4 hrs without either nursing or pumping. This even included nights. I got to a point where I would pump 12-16 oz per pumping. I had such a huge stash I fed my son for 8 months after I stopped nursing.
