Everyone on here seems so excited to have twins/multiples. Is there anyone else who was just hoping for one baby and is now struggling with its more than one or am I totally alone in this?! I go for fertility treatment because "it is highly unlikely to even conceive" and I come out with two. My biggest dream turning into my biggest nightmare.

this is my opinion -- my husband and i had been ttc for 8 years and nothing. we ended up having to do ivf/icsi.. it was a long 7 months of treatment and many bumps in the road that postponed it.. i watched my siblings have SIX babies over the last 5 years and it was heartbreaking!! i had 4 embryos frozen in may and end of June had two transferred (better my odds of a successful pregnancy and saving money).. i got pregnant off the first cycle praise the Lord!! when I went for my first ultrasound on the 27th I knew it was going to be twins and had felt that way all along!! to my surprise one of my embryos split into identical twins.. TRIPLETS!! yes, it is scary and a lot of process BUT i would've been just as over the moon excited if it were quads!! having to go through fertility treatments isn't easy.. it's emotionally, physically, mentally, financially draining.. the outcome outweighs ALL of that no matter how many babies I ended up with!! everyone has their own feelings but how in the world could you struggle with getting pregnant and having a family then being unhappy at how many babies you ended up with?!?! I just cannot understand how anyone can feel that way especially after having to go through infertility! every life created is nothing less than a miracle and blessing from God!!

We quickly adjusted to the idea, but at the first ultrasound both didn't have heartbeats ( we were looking for a cyst not expecting pregnancy) and my husband said uuuuhhh can you pop one of those while you're up there. The following week at 5w6d there were two little heartbeats. I am not enjoying this pregnancy like I did with my first. Thankfully I am having di/di so we knew we had less risks then others, but I am so uncomfortable and can't believe I have another 9-10 weeks. I don't understand why people want this so bad. One would have been enough. We love both babies, but this pregnancy sucks!

Sorry! Can't agree on this one! Not to put down anyone's feelings - because we all have the right to feel and express ourselves. So this is not at all to bash - but as a mother of twins I just feel impelled to chime in. My feelings from the first time I laid my eyes on those two sacs glowing on the screen in the Er - have been nothing but love and excitement ... we feel extremely blessed! If anything, I ask - why us? Why are we SO blessed to expect not one but two! I find it a bit disheartening to read this - only because if a woman was to post that she was pregnant but wasn't ready, wanted an abortion, etc. - everyone would rip her to shreds for having sex since one outcome is obviously pregnancy. Not that I am condoning that - I am not and never have put a woman down on this app. But, let's all be honest ... twins/multiples ARE a potential outcome of sex and trying to conceive. Again, not bashing and can totally appreciate the scare and shock! But, I do hope that the blessing of two babies can be absorbed! Besides, it sure is something to brag about. Good luck to you all!

My husband & I were extremely shocked, but knew we were ready for kids & saved for 2 years. So financially we were set. The only let down was his difficult this pregnancy turned out. At 6 months I had to go on bedrest & it has not been a vacation. Everyday I Want to go back to work so bad, I'm due Aug 29th & I'm counting the days. Overall, I feel twins are a great way to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. They will keep each other company & this will be it doc us. I did tell my husband if it were tripelets I would give one to his sister who can't have kids. Other then that, I feel this is a blessing 😄

Once you see this two blessings in your arms and doing lots of different things you will fall in love trust me I was so scared cause I have a 2 year old baby girl and got my anxiety attacks it was a hard pregnancy but once I saw them and hug them I fell in love and I am so blessed ☺☺☺

Do not feel bad. It took me several weeks for the initial shock and fear of raising two babies at once To go away before I could finally be happy about having twins, not everyone is the same. May take you more time and more likely it's fear rather than disappointment. Don't let anyone tell you those feelings aren't ok. Especially if this will be your first babies. These are #2 and #3 for me and I was not at all thrilled about it for almost a month. You will get there 😊

I'm 21 weeks with twins and if I'm really honest, I'm still having trouble adjusting to reality. I was still somewhat on the fence of having another when I got pregnant. Then, now suddenly it's two more and not just one. I really have had to grieve for the family of four I wanted and learn that we will now be five. I know when they come I will love them like crazy and not be able to imagine life without them, but I'm not there yet. Right now I am terrified, overwhelmed, and feeling really guilty that I'm going to turn my toddler's life upside down. *sigh*

We were shocked but quickly absorbed the thought. We are used to two babies. We don't know what having one feels like. Can't imagine. Boring may be?

All we were doing was planning for a sibling for my son. We didn't use fertility treatments and twins don't run in our family. The crazy part of my story is my doctor only saw one baby at my eight week ultrasound. It wasn't until my twelve week appointment that the technician said "you have another baby in here". I was PISSED for a good week because I just don't understand how you can miss a whole baby. Now we have to get a bigger car (I also have a stepdaughter) and we are shopping for a bigger house because we don't have room for four children. We can't use the old stroller because we need a double and it's just a lot that needs to change in a short time. We also hired a baby nurse because my husband is an attorney that works all the time. We thought we can handle one newborn with no problem (we are a great team) but two newborns and a toddler is going to be nuts. I am pretty excited now about their arrival but the first few weeks was a major shock.

I think it's perfectly ok to feel the way you are. Of course it's a blessing to have two, but that doesn't mean it isn't scary and overwhelming. Just take time to prepare yourself, and know when you meet them all those feelings will just be love and appreciation. That's what I'm hoping for cause right now I'm a little scared! I'm 10 weeks with twins from IVF as well. You can do this!

Anyone not happy about having twins/multiples?!
