I'm almost 19 years old and my nurse practitioner told me that I should get a pap smear soon because I've been sexually active for 3 years (with only one guy) and I've never been to an obgyn (btw is that weird?). That makes no sense to me because a pap smear is to check for cervical cancer, right? I thought you were supposed to get a pap smear every 3 years once you turn 21. Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks :)
