Hagen Marshall Edwards
My baby boy and absolute love of my life made his grand debut 7/28/2016 via unplanned c section. I was woken up at 530am on 7/28 to induce labor. Pitocin started at 6am and my water was broke at 615. Everything was underway. I labored for about 4 hours until the anestisialogist was availble to do my epideral. Once i got my epideral they had to change my iv site because the current one was pulling out and wouldnt work. Not only was that going on, they placed a vaginal monitor to monitor baby's heartrate. I got so sick during all this and began to throw up everywhere. Things finally settled down, and the nurse was able to place me in a comfortable position to work on trying to get baby to descend. I took a 2 hour nap only to find out he hadnt moved and i only was dialted to 4 after 6 hours of labor. At 1:30pm I was taken in for a Csection because there was no other option. Already having had my epideral, they gave me more meds to numb me completley, well they pretty much paralized me from my neck down, and i dozed in and out the entire procedure. Which was in a way good. Once they got in there my Doctor discovered that my Placenta had started to attach to my uterus, which was causing my son to not drop down and come out. They had to yanked him out of me. We spent 1 1/2 hours in recovery because i couldnt move and had trouble breathing. I couldnt even enjoy my baby because i was so messed up. It was scary and i hated feeling trapped. I didnt even get to hold him for his first breast feed, the nurse and my husband held him because i couldnt move. I tell you this story to tell you this. IT WAS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PAIN, PLAN DETOUR, AND YES EVEN THE PARALYSIS!! My son is perfect in every single way. I still cant believe God gave me this little human to care for. 7lbs 13oz and 21.5 inches long.
