Why do you call your baby a rainbow baby?

I've read many posting about rainbow baby's but never asked why, my guess was just becouse they ara so beautiful or the happy felling seeing a rainbow gives us, I have a feeling that' is not it. :-[

Rainbow baby refers to a baby that was conceived after the loss of another baby by miscarriage or stillborn. Probably because after a storm(death of a child) there is always a rainbow on the other side hence the name rainbow baby!
