When is it considered cheating

if you're talking to a guy, but at the same time sleeping with another guy would you consider this cheating or is it only cheating when you're officially dating the person you were talking to?

You're only talking, you could decide tomorrow that you don't want anything to do with each other. You can't cheat on somebody you're not in a relationship with. Like think about if this post was a girl saying that a boy she wasn't in a relationship with had cheated on her because they were talking, you'd be like "wtf no he didn't". If it looks like you're getting close to being in a relationship with him and that's what you both want in the near future, then it's not exactly 'good' to be sleeping with another guy but it's not cheating.

So my boyfriend and I were talking the other night, (though I think his word choice could have been a bit different) he said that you can date multiple people at once without it being cheating, its not cheating until your seeing another person while going steady with someone else. So basically, you can be seeing multiple people at once, kind of like that getting to know you single stage when you have an open interest in whoever, but once you're going steady well, its official and just you two.
