Does the woman like buy a ring for herself? Does she propose and then the guy is expected to buy a ring? Is there no ring?? Does she get an engagement ring for the guy??? I don't get it

You can do whatever you want. I probably would've bought my husband a ring if I'd proposed, and knowing him he wouldn't be gotten one for me to wear, as well. But we just decided to get married and were never really engaged.
