For Work: Why people don't want braces.

I work at an orthodontist and I am trying to come up with reasons why people don't begin treatment right away. So let's say I've just given you a treatment estimate for 18-24 months of treatment and your insurance doesn't pay 100% so there is a couple thousand dollars out of pocket you have to pay. What are some reasons why you would decide to hold off for either yourself or your child? TIA! :)
