New pill pack

How does starting a new pack on the pill work? Do I just get my period anytime during the month? Or is it during the "placebo" week? Do I start the first pill of the new pack the day after the last of the old pack? Also if I want to switch to mornings (I currently take it around 10pm) how do I do that between packs? (Sorry I know I already asked something similar)
