When is everyone starting to buy baby stuff?

The sex of the baby is still unknown, but when should you usually start stacking up on diapers  and other simple things you will need?

I think I'm going to start buying one big thing a month to try and spread the cost over the next 7 months rather than have to pay for everything in the last few and also be dealing with taking time off work all at once!

Start buying whenever you feel like it. I started picking up a few things as soon as we started trying for a baby. I know a lot of people think that's nuts, but I would rather spread it cost out as much as I can. Also we have a busy year ahead with a lot of big expenses coming up, so now that I am pregnant, I feel like getting a good chunck of these baby buys out of the way early on is a relief. Plus I'm big on keeping things gender neutral, so I don't feel like I need to wait to find out the sex either before making purchases. Although we have decided to hold off on big purchases (like crib, car seat, stroller etc.) until I'm much further along.

It's hard not to splurge! But I'm going to wait as long as I can. No big purchases until after 6 months if say. Maybe a bib or baby-gro before that ☺️
