When do you know you should stop trying?

Question

I'm 12 days past my IUI and I go tomorrow morning for my beta bloodiest. All my HPTs are negative and it's really hard to stay positive. We are 38 and I feel like my window is closing.

A social worker told me, you will know when your period is a day late and you either don't notice, or your heart didn't skip a beat.  When your cycle is nothing more than normal monthly activity, you don't hold your breath and think maybe....

When you know in your heart you will truly be ok if you stop trying and feel at peace with it. I say if you don't have that feeling then keep trying. Take a break if you need to. 38 is still young I would say when you reach 43-45 it starts getting too risky
