When looking for a gyno who do you prefer a male or female doctor?

I'm in search for a new doctor. I went to the gynecologist my doctor recommended. Worst first experience ever. I went for my first check up and to get an IUD, never gave me results on a cyst they found and when I asked for an opinion about birth control the physician assistant (not even the doctor) told me to pick whatever I liked... I HAD NO IDEA WHAT MY OPTIONS WERE! (Thanks google) I saw different assistants/ doctors each visit and they forgot to give me a medication before inserting my IUD.

Now I'm looking for a new doctor, but I'm not sure what to look for. Yelp is being both helpful and scary 🙄 Ladies in Queens,NY I'm opened to recommendations.. Or ladies I'm opened to opinions or tips for a better experience

I put female, but that's okay because I'm 18 and have only been once.

I'm much more comfortable with a female doctor, just because I'm 21 and I still laugh awkwardly when a female doctor has her fingers up my vagina and is talking to me, so I can only imagine how awkwardly laughing I'd be if I had a male doctor. My step mom says she prefers a male doctor because they are much more gentle, because they don't have a vagina so they just treat it more gently than a female might. so there's two opinions for you

I go to an ALL female oB/gyn office here in PA. I love it so much there. They're so so understanding and when I say about male doctors not understanding usually they completely agree. They understand you in a different level other than medical. They're so great over there that I drive an hour away just for my birth control and UTIs and everything else!

We only have 2 ob/gyns around here that treat birth like a natural event, and do breech births and VBACs, and they're both guys so it narrowed down the field. I'd like another baby sometime, and I'd rather not have to switch when I get pregnant, so easy choice.

I am much more comfortable with a man, doctors, nurses etc. It's annoying when receptionists assume females prefer to see a female practitioner
