My family hates my boyfriend..help me
My boyfriend/best friend have known each other since age 12. We've been together for about 3 of those 8 years. When my dad first met him (we were 13) he absolutely despise we him and completely wrote him off. I don't blame him. He was selling drugs, had no respect for authority, and really not going anywhere in life. More than a year ago his actions caught up with him and he ended up in jail for 8 months. Many times I broke things off wanting better for myself and better for him. Since he came out of jail he became almost a new person. He keeps himself out of the streets, went back to school, and is working hard to get back on his feet and start his business. His character changes for the better and he finally saw the man within him that I always saw. We've discussed marriage and decided we'll tie the knot once I've gotten my degree and we're both financially stable. I love this man with everything within me. Every single day my love for him just grows more and more. When we go through our downs we fight through it and our relationship just grows stronger. I'm deeply in love but here's my problem. My parents still think he's that "punk" they knew when we were 12/13 years old. How do I go about introducing my bf and getting my parents to see him for who he is now?
