Prenatal vitaminconversion confusion

Katie • 26 yrs old. Married for 2 yrs. World traveler
Slight background....I'm American living in Saudi. Went to my first Obgyn appointment since  living here. My husband and I just started the TTC adventure and I had a few questions for my doctor. Though the language barrier is something I'm used to I just wanted a second opinion from my more knowledgeable English speaking Glow members.
They don't prescribed or sell anywhere specific prenatal vitamins in Saudi. The doctor gave me a packets of folic acid and said this is all I need. 😒 well I've been on this app long enough to know that's not true.
I currently take a women's multi vitamin at night that contains 400mcg of folic acid and a vitiman B complex that contains 400 mcg of folic acid as well. WELL the folic acid the doctor gave me is 5 mg. Which from what I googled was equal to 5000 mcg. Is that way too much to take?? That would be a total of 5,800 mcg a day!
I've read the recommendations are only 400-600 mcg. Every website says something different so if there are any doctors/nurse/experienced moms out there.  I'd really appreciate any advice.
Thanks!!!
