When should I tell my parents about my boyfriend?

My parents, sister and I are living in Germany tho and I've met him in Los Angeles when I was visiting my aunt and her family. Basically he's just amazing I didnt want to tell my parents yet because I was just too young and I want them to take him seriously even tho he said by the beginning of our relationship that he does want to talk to my parents first but stopped asking for that when I told him to.

When should I tell them about him? I want them to know and like him, he has tattoos, he has a hard past and he has a son he wants them to know about.
