age for gyno??

im 17 & im wondering if im too young for a pap smear.. what age should i go & get one?

If you've had sex, you're not too young to have a pap. It's good to get checked out :) your doc should've mentioned it when you got the pills. That's odd. Anyway, after your first they recommend one every 3 years.

I think I was like 15 or 16 when I had my first pap. I was 14 when I went on birth control and back then they recommended annuals ever year. I think they recommend starting annuals at 18, or after starting birth control or losing your virginity,  you can always ask your pediatrician to find out what the current recommendations are (my information is from around 15 years ago)

They used to say 18 or when you become sexually active. I was 18 when I got pregnant and they wouldn't even give me one. They don't do them now AT ALL until you're 21.
