Water broke , monitor showing contractions but can't feel it

Water broke on due date . Went to the hospital and they hooked me up to some machines to monitor the baby. They said machines are detecting contractions and keep asking me if I'm feeling them. I'm not feeling anything and been like this for the past 4 hours. Has this happened to anyone too ? I'm worried that I can't feel the contractions. I'm not on any type of medication
