Hospital bag for mom and baby?

Im currently 34 weeks and i want to start packing everything up for myself and baby for when I'm at the hospital what do u guys suggest/strongly recommend taking or not taking to the hospital for me and the baby?

Your own towel !! Unless your into trying to dry off with the hospital towel that is the size of a hand towel and stiff as all get out:) I bought myself a huge red beach towel and loved it with my daughter two years ago and plan to do the same this time

Cell cord,cell or camera,large pads for the after bleeding, breast pads washable for leaks,a outfit only one for baby for home trip as family waves you on or picture time if your mobile afterwards,a diaper for car ride in case ,Your hygiene products plus an after loose dress if you can to wear home everyone either leaves same size or less so it's a life saver, don't take fancy expensive  stuff sometimes roommates or lady next door steals while your away to pee or get a physical! Dr's numbers,& restraunt coupon to grab a taco to go your not going to magically cook a four course meal with all the stress to feeling lost as you transition.Breastfeeding items if your going to use so the ladies can show you how to use them properly.Us with IGT  like me well they'll provide formula so no need to pack cans or bottles unless your using a pouch to simulate breastfeeding the hospital breast feeding guides can help you use it for the 1st time.I'm going bottle since I have boobs their just useless sad to say from day one no milk plus if drops come out their nutritional level was not up to par.Some IGT moms if lucky make a small healthy amount if you do pump away use all you can of it in a seperate bottle than the formula so none is wasted.Look into moms who donate Breast milk some qualify in some states.I know this ends up being occasional natural milk with lots of formula but if it's in your heart doesn't hurt to look at options that even adoptive moms can use. If brave enough get extra breast milk from a friend you trust do it I did had a few breast milk bottles every blue moon plus her formula she's healthy happy y now looking at colleges.This time got no friend or program in my town but that's okay Doctor already named a few formula choices to consider with coupon sites.Bottle fed to breast fed doesn't matter really it's a happy fed baby that does.

It depends on where you live. Here in the US, most hospitals provide everything for baby. All you need is an outfit for baby to go home in. They even sent us home with a warm blanket, a hat, nasal aspirator, diapers, etc.

For yourself, you'll want to bring your phone, charger, toiletries, and two robes. I brought a warm robe which was nice at times because the hospital was cold. But at other times I felt too hot because of my hormones. So next time I would pack a warm one and a cooler one. Again, the hospital provided me with as many mesh underwear and pads as I needed.

I think it's suggested to bring an outfit for you to go home in that fit you at 6 months pregnant. So I brought a pair of maternity pants. Well I had a c section and the pants hurt way to bad over the incision so I ended up going home in the robe! I would suggest a loose fitting dress to go home in.

All I really used for myself:
- robe
- comfy clothes to go home in
- toothbrush/hairbrush
- shampoo
- charger for my phone

Baby:
- 2 newborn outfits (used only one, but took two in case baby poops or burps on her clothes) 
- blanket

Hospital provided pads, diapers, lonoline for my nipples, underwear (I even stole a couple of undies because they were so comfy for the huge lads after delivery lol) and whatever else I needed. Don't stress yourself about it, you really don't need that much :)

Have a nursing bra with you and ready to go with pad inserts ... Loose comfortable pants ... Boppy pillow ... Pony tail bands ... Outfit you want to put baby in to meet guests ... Slippers ... Preferred snacks and drinks...your own pillow ... Video camera charged ... I never even used the puzzle books I brought ... Good luck :)

That's honestly all you need. Don't overwhelm yourself and overpack. It's just like you're staying the night somewhere

Honestly i brought a coming home outfit for both of us. And comfort stuff for me. Tooth brush, hair brush, 1 pair of comfy clothes, phone charger, and just anything i thought i would need over night. The hospital supplies baby blankets,  diapers, binkies, and wipes usually but ask just to make sure. :) good luck
