Pcos and birth control?

Has anyone with pcos been given birth control? If so, what was the outcome? Did it help with weight loss and did it make your symptoms better or worse? Im trying to figure out what is better for me, I just dont want to start birth control and end up super messed up than before. Please help me!

Try diet and exercise first. Going off of birth control makes it that much harder to regulate your body on your own when you are ready to conceive.

I was out on birth control for 3 months and then I started Clomid because we are trying to get pregnent. I was also in metformin that made me lose 20 lbs. So the weight loss plus birth control helped me to actually have a normal cycle, something I havnt had in years. I have medicine tho!!! I have read so much about how diet and exercise and really help woman with pcos. Talk with your doc and see if there are alternatives
