We are house hunting and have found an incredible house well under our budget. The draw back? It's next to a category c prison. The prison seems reasonably secure but it does have a history of expanding (although we know a very good development lawyer so we may be able to prevent future expansions). The owners are also desperate to sell so we would be buying undervalue. We are willing to keep the property for ten plus years so selling isn't really problem. There is no way we would be able to buy anything even a little bit like this property otherwise. Everything else we can afford is either too small or in an inconvenient place. What would you do?
