Is it pathetic to still think about your ex after 2 years?

Nope not pathetic. I was hung up on my ex for 2 years after we broke up. It mostly happens because you didn't get the closure you wanted.

My SO seems to still think of one girl sometimes and it ended 9-10 years ago.
From what I've put together... they were in school together, he thought she was the hot girl and they had a text thing for 2 years (him trying to charm her/ win her over) before they went out for a few months aged about 21.

I've seen her photo, nice figure but not a hot girl face imo. But I think he thought she was out of his league, so she's left some kind of lasting impression.

I've had that happen - impression left - but I've moved on after a while. I wonder why he hadn't managed to fully get her out of his system. I think because they were connected through Facebook. She was so rude to him last year about his creative endeavours & professional achievements. He is aware she's not very nice.

She was a drama queen, loved duckface selfies, and putting others in their place. She dumped him. For some reason she pops into his head. Perhaps she's the "ungettable girl" that he briefly got. Dating her felt like a victory? Maybe her being rude & being the one who dumped him makes him feel he didn't win? It seems there's a lack of closure. Maybe she reminds him of his young adult years which he's nostalgic over (21 was a good era for me too, everything & anything seemed possible).

I busted him doing weekly to fortnightly searches for her through Facebook last year & checking her photos too... Right before we moved in together. I was deeply upset over it and was prepared to walk away. He deleted her on Facebook and doesn't search her now, except once (I've checked the odd time, but gradually less).

It's so stupid ! because here we are in a great relationship and otherwise happy, but some girl from so long ago (now married) living abroad has some kind of hold... Which is hopefully reducing.

Same 😒😒😒 I live super far from him and I still compare him to other guys. It's difficult to find someone when you are so into your ex.
