Baby scale, do we rally need one?

My sister-in-law is a vet wants to get us a baby scale to make sure  the baby gains weight appropriately and for our pets, because  they struggle with obesity 😝😔.  I think it is a waist of money and she can spend her money on more useful  things.  What do you think, is it a waist of money and space?

Waste of money yes...Lol. Seems silly. You will have regular checkups for newborns where they will weigh your little one. No need to bother with it at home.

Waste of money. You can always use your own scale of you need to weigh the baby. Just hold the baby and subtract your weight.

It's a waste. I just hold my daughter and weigh her on my scale. Get the same results as the Dr's office honestly.

You can often just walk into the doctors office and use their scale for free, or many nursing moms groups or hospitals have a scale available.

Our baby was very slow putting on weight. We saw the GP, hospital (paediatrician), midwife and lactation consultant... all weighing her and ask their scales were different and they weighed her differently (nappy on, naked, clothes on etc). It was really frustrating so we bought scales so we knew exactly what she was gaining. I guess it would only be worthwhile if baby is not gaining quick enough
