Update: yes the obvious answer would have been go to the dentist. When I posted this it was Friday night and there isn't any local dental offices open around here until Monday. I was looking more for at home remedies but I guess I should have specified. I did end up going to the emergency room and was given a Novocain injection along with antibiotics and will be following up with a dentist Monday hopefully for an extraction!
