My 2 week old daughter lost her cord a week ago and now it's bleeding, it soaked the top of the diaper that covers it. Any reason why this is happening?!?!

I have no clue why it would be if call your pediatric doc if you can. Put some gause over it in case it bleeds some more. If doesn't stop I'd go to the ER because it doesn't seem normal

My daughters belly button did the same thing about a week after her cord fell off. I folded her diapers down so they weren't touching or irritating it and it stopped bleeding in a few days

That's not normal, get in to see your Dr or I'd go to the er if it's the weekend where you are just incase there's a chance of a hemmorage. I got in with my Dr the day after I called cuz I told them I thought her cord was infected at 4 days old. Thankfully it wasn't but they got us in because infections for infants are very bad.

Did you clean the belly button after the stump fell off. My cousin did not know she had to and a week later the belly button was bleeding as well. She went in and they sealed it. You should definetly go in. Even a small blood loss could be fatal to an infant.

Same thing happened with my baby. Her pediatrician told me to make sure I cleaned it after every diaper change with an alcohol prep pad. It scabbed over and healed in 5 days.

My sons bled a little bit when it fell off his  dr told me to use a q tip and put alcohol on It to keep it from infections

You have to go to the pedeatrician. I believe they put some type of Cream on it.

Are you cleaning it?  My son's got irritated and bled a tiny bit but it was because of his diaper rubbing on it.
