Recent chemical pregnancy

I had a chemical pregnancy last month. I never really had a period (mine are like clockwork) just heavy spotting, but I started taking ovulation tests and realized the spotting must have "counted" because I was getting ready to ovulate. So we did our usual routine during the fertility window but then I started spotting pretty heavily about 10 days before my period was due and and didn't stop for over a week. I took pregnancy tests and nothing. Also took ovulation tests to see if this "counted" again but negatives for both. Period is due today and I have nothing going on now... Anyone have any ideas what could be up? I have my annual Gyno appointment in a couple weeks but just thought I'd ask here. I've been super regular my whole life so not sure what's going on!
