Boyfriend going to college six hours away

I still have two more years of high school, and my boyfriend is starting college in NYC 6 hours away in two weeks. I'm going to miss him so much everyday, and I am worried he will leave me. We both want to stay together but I am worried he will change his mind. How can I make it easier? If we are still together in two years, I am contemplating attending a school in NYC to be with him. Is this a bad idea?
