Baby's umbilical stump...?

We went to change her diaper and there is some blood around it. I've read its normal, but I wanted to check that this looks okay so far! She is 5 days old today and it doesn't seem to bother her. FTM and I'm SO ready for this thing to fall off already.

Soap and water is the best!!! alcohol will burn get a soap that is antibacterial

Going through the same thing! Hers also stinks! She's 8 days today. Hubby and I freaked out but my mother in law says it's fine

Just make sure you are wiping it with alcohol daily. The hospital told me to keep my babies cord stump dry and I listened and ended up in the pediatricians office with an infection in it! It smelled and I couldn't understand why because I did what they said.. But my pediatrician said always use alcohol on it twice daily to keep infection out!

Looks normal. They say it should fall off within 2 weeks. My baby girl lost hers a bit early. But no sign of infection l. She did have some mild bleeding before and after, though. Looked about like that

Very normal. You only need to worry if it bleeds a lot.

Ours fell off on day 5 but it had looked kind of like that before it did.

Completely normal! With having clothing over it and diapers it tends to get moved around a little which is what causes the slight bleeding. Just keep it clean but dry (don't soak it lol) and it will fall off in another week and a half or so.

That's normal,  it probably just got a little irritated from her diaper or clothes rubbing. It won't be long and it will be gone
