Baby kicking HURT

I'm 28 weeks and was laying down and I swear it felt like little poking or scraping of my baby's fingers or toes against my ribs. And then I felt a jab on the other side. But the scraping was weird. Like it wasn't just one kick or roll it was like I could actually feel extremities because it was a bunch of tiny little movements at once. But anyway it really hurt! Like made me yell out and it hurt a bit after too. Is this normal?
