Waste of time to test prior to missed period?

Tomorrow will be 6 days until AF should be coming, I am having symptoms and I'm very very anxious to test. Just wondering if it's a waste of time to test 6 days out or what you guys think. We are new to the whole TTC thing so any advice or comments are appreciated. Thanks 😘💕
