This morning at 8:40 my water had broken while I was sleeping. I felt a huge gush of fluid come out and as I tried to stand up it came rushing out even more. I then called for my boyfriend and we got ready for the hospital. At 9 we had arrived and were in labor and delivery, by 9:30 they had taken a test to see if my water truly broke. At 10 it was confirmed broken,  but I was not having any contractions. Since I wasn't having any contractions, I was put on a medicine to help my contractions, and help them increase. They said by 4 I should be dilated to about 4 cm.  However, by 2:30 I had already been having contractions less than 3 minutes apart that we're bringing me to tears of pain. I finally got an epidural by 3pm and was finally able to truly relax. I rested from about 3 till 5:40 pm. By 5;40 I felt the urge to really go pee and poop, so they checked and for sure I was 10 cm. My doctor and nurse came in and did a few practice pushes, then at 6pm we began the real deal. I pushed for twenty minutes and behold my baby was born, weighing 5 lbs and 14 oz. yes he is tiny, but I am also very tiny. Before pregnancy I weighed around 110 pounds and only writes 140 pounds late in my pregnancy. However, my baby is perfectly healthy and here. Only 10 hours I was truly here in the hospital before he came out. It was all worth it.
