Constipated after birth? Relief???

Has anyone tried an enima? I've also heard about soap suppositories, do they work? And can it be any type of soap? I'm already taking stool softens but the problem is with the hard dry poop that's already in my butt! How can I get it out, it's so painful and stuck! Should I try a colon cleanse?

The only thing that helped me (had a stool softener and was drinking prune juice every day) was an enema. I went a week and a half without pooping after my c-section. Not pooping was worse than the darn surgery lol.

If it's seriously stuck in your butt already then you may have to manually take it out. Where gloves if you have to! It's absolutely disgusting but worth it lol

I take Metamucil pills regularly and it helps. Prune juice can help for what's already there. It's gonna hurt I'm sure but once that passes you should be good.

If you can not have a natural bowel movement with stimulating foods such as: prunes, coffee, fruits, lentils, beans, etc.,Take magnesium pills!
Stay away from unnatural pills as they can cause dependency and possibly colon cancer.

You could try castor oil, it's a laxative. Or prune judicial, coffee is also a natural laxative, chocolate milk

An emema will definitely work but will probably make you feel worse for a little bit. After you go take MIRALAX once a day to keep you regular. If it makes you to regular cut back and do every other day or every few days. I am chronically constipated (since I was 17 I'm 25 now) I take MIRALAX everyday and it's a life saver. I feel your pain and know how miserable you are. If you don't want to do the enema try taking MIRALAX twice a day until you go. It'll eventually work but an emema will probably work faster and be a little less painful.

Have you ever tried an oil based enema? A doctor gave me one to take home and use once.. it definitely worked lol I'm pretty sure that you can get it over the counter. I've used a regular enema too before and it worked but when you say you need it for the stuff that's already there and dry..that's why I wonder if an oil one would help because that's basically why my doc gave me it a long time ago. (I took a medication that made me constipated for the first time in my life lol it was terrible)
