My son was due 8/10. My Dr let me go in ob the 11th to be induced. We arrived at the hospital at 7:30, and got all set up and started the induction about 9:30. At that time I was only dilated 2cm and had scar tissue built up from my cervical cancer surgery. By 1:30 dr came back in and broke my water and again I was still only at 2cm. Contractions were starting to get closer together and more painful. I asked for something for pain and she checked me again and was still only 2. Getting extremely frustrated at this point!!! I finally couldn't take the pain anymore and asked for an epidural. (I had never had one with my other 2 kids and didn't know what to expect). While getting the epidural I was having contractions every like 30 seconds. Not to mention the pain from the epidural itself. She checked me again and was finally at 5. The epidural didn't take or work at all. She came back in to check me again at 5:45 and she said I was at 8. She was going to give report and by the time she was done maybe it would be time. She literally just walked out the door and I yelled I have to push. She yelled for another nurse to call the dr (who was just walking in the door) they all ran in the room checked me again and I was at 10. 5:52pm after only pushing 3 times he was there. It was a crazy insane painful labor but I'm still amazed by my beautiful rainbow baby.
