So i want to know what are my rights or what should i know when going into labor?

Im a FTM and im saying this cause ived read here and had some friends tell me theyre labor stories. For example i had my friends mom tell me when she was in labor ready to push one of the nurses came in and told her not to push cause the doctor wasn't here yet so the nurse closed her legs and the baby went right back up and it was hard for her to push again. My friends mom told me this "When you are ready to push You push because your body is ready dont let no nurse or anyone tell you to Wait". Im kind of scared cause shouldn't nurses be there for you to comfort you to give you the best choices or options. Im a FTM and of course i want someone to help me then when i dont know what to expect. So idk anything else i should know?
