Tying tubes?

Question

To the ladies who've had their tubes tied
Did it change your periods?
Do you regret it?
Did it mess with your hormones?
Anything I should be aware of beforehand?
I'm pregnant with 4th. After my 3rd I thought I was done and lo and behold almost 8 yrs later I wanted another one. All my kids were planned besides my first. He was a suprise. I'm just contemplating getting them tied after this baby and looking for some insight or any advice. Thank you all.

Tying your tubes is not a hysterectomy. Your hormones are fine after and your periods should be normal. The only change you will notice with your periods is the change from birth control, to none. If you are normally on birth control, it gives your lighter shorter periods. Your normal natural menstrual cycle will resume as the body intended. I had my
Tubes tied after my third born (he's 5 months now). I hadn't been on birth control for almost 8 years. I noticed no change to my cycle so far (only two periods since birth) and I feel normal and fine. The healing period was worse than I had thought due to the gas they pump into your abdomen. I'd say by 2 weeks I felt great. Sex without consequences for the rest of my life is totally worth it.

I had it done and I regretted almost immediately but I was more so pushed into it. I have 4 kids. My EX and his parents were pushing to get my tubes tied and I agreed. I was in a very bad marriage and I got married @ 16. I married again and we just had my tubes reversed in JAN but were told in MAY that my tubes are blocked and IVF is my only option. I feel bad for my SO because conceiving naturally would be ideal. I feel like he has to take on the burden of a choice I made 9 yrs ago. If it's something you want to do. I'd do as much research as possible. One day you may look back and think that it was a stupid decision or you may be ok with it. Before I had my TR studies showed that only 10 % of women regretted it and went on to reverse it. While it's a quick fix keep in mind it's not 100% and if you have any doubt about wanting more kids in the future, it may take a big a toll on your bank account . My body took well to the tubal ligation only difference was that I got pretty bad cramps. I hope that you make the right decision for YOU.

I had mine done after my second child and no I don't regret it. My periods are a bit heavier but nothing more than that. Also I don't think it messes with hormones because there will still be blood flow to your ovaries.

Just me SURE you want to do it. It's really something you and your husband should sit down and talk about. I was glad that my husband and I were on the same page of only wanting two. It made the decision so much easier. Good luck!!
