How do you feel about adoption?

Hi ladies! I recently told somebody that I have no interest in conceiving my own children and that I'd prefer to adopt. They shamed me and told me that I was stupid to have such an 'opinion' and she then asked me what I would do if my significant other wanted their own children. I told her that it was a deal breaker if they couldn't get on board with me adopting and she went on to say some things I won't repeat due to the sheer ignorance of it all.
