Flat head *Update*
UPDATE 9/16
Well, we got his helmet yesterday. When he first got it on, he touched it lightly, then pretty much ignored it. It was me that burst into tears at the idea of not seeing Mason's entire head for 8-10 weeks. For the first two days, we were told to take it off periodically to look him over for red spots. If he developed any redness, I needed to keep the band off until it went away. Any redness lasting more than an hour, I was to keep the band off completely. He can only have it off for an hour a day, during which time I spray it down with rubbing alcohol and set it to dry. During diaper changes I briefly take it off, to wipe his sweat down and make sure he doesn't get any sores.
The first night was really hard. He hasn't figured out that he still has full mobility, and refused to roll onto his side (how he likes to sleep). They told me to dress him lightly because of how hot his head would get, so I did, but I think his body was cold and his head was very hot. I tried socks, a thin blankie, nothing worked. He just kept waking up and freaking out. During the day he napped in his swing though, so I have him sleeping in that tonight so far and it's going much smoother.

PREVIOUS POST:
I went for my consultation today at Cranial Tech, and was recommended for treatment. They said my son has moderate plagiocephaly and brachycephaly, so hopefully insurance will cover his Doc Band helmet. He would wear it for 5-7 weeks, 23 hours a day. This is his profile, and his scans compared to the head shape of a normal baby (a normal baby has an egg shape from an aerial view, his is round, and flat in the back).
