Will you allow your baby to get a hospital bath right after birth?

I've read up on waiting 48 hours after birth to bathe the baby for the first time. It's all about vernix, bonding, blood sugar and etc. Good research!

They shower my daughter less than an hour after she was born she was fine after!! I think the nurses know what they're doing and they wouldnt put your babys life in danger!

I'm gonna wait to have my baby bathed . Just like I'm gonna wait to have his cord clamped until after is done pulsating .

My baby wasn't bathed in the hospital and we waited until she was about 4-5 days old to sponge bathe her.

With my first, we waited about 28 hours after birth and then we did it ourselves with the baby wash be bought since the hospital uses Johnson&johnson. We plan on doing the same with our second due in Feb!

I've had 3 babies in a hospital. I didn't want any of them to get a bath, but my second child got one anyway. The nurses took my daughter to be weighed and decided to take her for a joy ride. I was royally ticked off. She was my only baby who came home with dry dry dry skin.

Yes, with my first two they had a little sponge bath and will allow with our twins too...
They didnt do it until a few hours after birth.

I accidentally pushed no, but yes my baby will get a bath after some skin on skin time with me, my son loved his first bath at the hospital. They were very careful with him and as soon as they put him in the bath he stopped crying and just layed there.

They gave my son a bath but it wasn't until about 6 hours later. I was fine with it by then.

I mean my children were born with blood and other stuff, that kind of stuff grows bacteria fast. They were bathed and didn't suffer from it. I can see waiting a few hours for bonding and sugar but not more than that.
