I am 33 weeks and 4 days pregnant, and I am leaking so much my friend suggested I tried pumping. So I did and I got this much colostrum. Is this normal? And is it ok to pump before you have the baby? I would like people's opinions.

Pumping can induce labor so it's definitely not advised at 33 weeks. Best thing to do is get the Milkies milk savers to put in your bra.

Pumping won't induce labor. That's a misconception in the US. Tandem nursing is very very common in many other countries with no labor inducing. That being said most everyone and your doctor will disagree. Also you won't run out of colostrum your body will just continue to produce more. That stuff is literally liquid gold, you could donate it to a local nicu or breast milk bank. You can also freeze it for up to six months. Id suggest saving it for your baby but it doesn't seem you are going to have any supply issues.

I would not pump. Baby should get that fresh, and you could induce labor, you are still early, I would wait.

That is awesome that you can produce that much but I would stay away from pumping.  There are actually milk catchers you can use so you naturally leak but aren't forcing it to come out.

I wouldn't pump at 33wks. They have things you can stick in your bra to collect the colostrum that doesn't involve pumping.

Pumping can induce labour is totally not true.. Many mum's continue to breast feed other children whilst being pregnant, and that doesn't cause early labour! That being said, baby will only need a few days of colostrum before your milk comes in so you dont need to be building up a frozen supply! Wear some breast pads, put the pump away, and save the expressing for when your proper milk supply comes in!☺️
