Is there a such thing as a useless degree?

School started for me recently (I'm in college), and some friends and I were talking about our goals and respective majors. My friend Jeanine is a newly declared Art History major. After she said that, a few people started to make jokes about how that's a "useless" degree. Personally, I don't believe any degree is useless, but I do know that job markets and the economy can directly affect someone's ability to find work in their field.

What do you think ladies? Do useless degrees exist?
