what to get my friend for her baby shower?

so I'm obviously going to get her something nice off her registery but i kinda wanted to get her a surprise bag too with lots of different items in it like small goodies. Tethers, pacis, wash clothes, small toys, a little book, things like that. And then I was thinking a second bag with baby food, teething waffers, baby cereal, puffs, and yogurts.. But got to thinking is it weird to give food... ? She due any day now and I know the baby would need those food items till much later and even if I check expiration dates is that a dumb idea? 🤔

My favorite gift from my baby shower was the only gift I got for ME.  Bath bombs, a book, Starbucks card, nail polish. It made me feel like I was important too :) and you really need that after feeling gross in the hospital

Yeah I wouldn't get any food items for baby..maybe a snack basket for mom/dad to use while in hospital or during breastfeeding to keep in the nursery. Basket of bottled water, protein bars, coconut water, candy, etc.

I would hold off on the food. The baby might not need it until 4-6 months, and you never know what your friend will want to feed baby when it is time for food. But what you've planned sounds so sweet!

I LOVE making diaper owls! They are super easy and everything can be used once the owl is taken apart! I'm not crafty and it only takes me about 15 minutes to make!

I wouldn't do good items then they have to find somewhere to store it for months. I do think a hospital snack bag would be amazing plus the other stuff mentioned.

My best friend (along with gift for baby) put together a "mommy bag" for me. Some comfy tanks and t-shirts, fuzzy socks, chocolate, a journal, lotion, hand sanitizer, etc. It was really nice to have that stuff for me! Because growing a baby is hard work, mamas deserve a present too lol I plan on doing this for my friends!

Wouldn't do the baby food, personally I would have liked to get more bags of diapers. Not necessarily buying a box but just a bag. Soaps and lotions are great, and some toys the baby can interact with pretty early, 0+ month and 3+ month.
