Using the patch

Amy Louise
I use the patch(EVRA) and recently have started using it continuously, instead of having a patch-free week. This stops your periods. I'd read and heard this was safe and okay to do, but I've just checked the leaflet which says 'do not wear more than 6 patches in a row(so no more than 6 weeks) and to talk with your doctor before delaying your period. I've done this for 8 weeks. I've just changed my patch and it's my period week, so I'm a little worried now. Is it dangerous to stop your periods using the patch and to use it continuously?Does anyone else do this with there's? Im not sure whether to take my patch off and have my period for this month or to just leave it for now and talk to a doctor or nurse

Well just like the pill, you shouldn't do this all the time. It's not healthy.

Will also drop into the clinic to see what they have to say, just panicked since it said to not use more than 6 in a row but didn't specify why

I've never used the pill due to medical conditions that would stop it from working. But yeah, I'm going to use it for the next cycle and then have a break.

The reason why it tells you not to do it is because it creates blood clots as the path is infamous for doing. I skipped my period once with my patches and when I got my period the blood clots coming out were unheard of
